After enjoying great success with their hit song ‘Nothing breaks like a heart’, singer-songwriters Miley Cyrus and Mark Ronson have collaborated once again. Only this time, by investing in America's first cannabis-themed restaurant.
*Lowell Cafe based in Los Angeles, California is a trendy restaurant that allows its patrons to choose from both a food menu and a cannabis menu.
The musical duo put their money where their mouth is by investing in ‘The Lowell Herb Company’, a seed-to-shelf cannabis company who grow, process, and manufacture their own organic cannabis products for the popular restaurant.
The Lowell Cafe is a chic 240-seat restaurant located on the upscale La Brea Boulevard in West Hollywood. It is comprised of a cosy dining room and a large shaded patio all of which is adorned in flowering plants and cannabis paraphernalia.
The food menu has all the familiar favourites such as grilled cheese, Black Angus smash burgers, and corn dogs but it also caters for the more health-conscious with baby kale and garden salads, crispy Brussels sprouts and even vegan nachos!

For Californians and the tourists it attracts, the cannabis menu also offers familiar favourites such as pre-rolled joints, loose flower, and even cold-pressed flower oil for vaping. Interestingly, you won’t find any cannabis-infused food.
Profit Infused Cannabis
Cannabis is now legal in one form or another across the majority of the United States, either medically or recreationally. This has prompted a surge of investment from the celebrity world.
Famous long-time cannabis enthusiasts Willie Nelson and Snoop Dogg have their own line of products and now more celebs such as Jay Z, Joe Montana, and Whoopi Goldberg are all getting in on the action.
Miley Cyrus’ investment here is not surprising either as she is a known advocate for cannabis saying in the past that “It was the most magical and amazing thing ever. My first true love.” It is believed that The Lowell Company’s ethical and organic approach to cannabis is what drove her and Mark to choose the cafe for their investment.
Seed to Shelf
The Lowell Herb Company have a stake in every part of the business from seed to shelf. They grow their own organic cannabis, priding themselves on only ever using organic fertilisers, never using synthetic pesticides, and always paying their farmers a good living wage.
Once grown they then process and manufacture all their cannabis products in their purpose-built lab to the highest quality international standard. They cater to customers looking for the euphoric high of THC-rich cannabis and also those looking for the medicinal-only benefits of cannabis by growing CBD-rich hemp.
Since their opening on the 1st of October the restaurant has been completely booked up and currently has a waiting list of over a month so if you’re planning a trip across the Atlantic be sure to ring in advance!
Candid Magazine has been informed that Lowell Cannabis Cafe has changed its name to Original Cannabis Cafe with the aim of being a part of the community and cannabis industry as a whole, as opposed to being under the umbrella of a large corporation.
