Top CBD Euro City Breaks

12th September 2019

So it’s getting into the time of year where you need a break from your busy day-to-day life. Naturally one of the first things you’re going to need to have a relaxing time is your CBD. But wait, if you go to somewhere that doesn’t let you use CBD that could be detrimental to your trip, right? Well, fear not. We’ve put together a list of some top destinations in Europe that you can jet off to at your leisure assured that you can get your CBD fix on arrival.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands (Obviously)

cbd and Amsterdam

Might as well start with the most obvious place you could take yourself off to. The Netherlands has long been associated with everything marijuana and CBD. Cannabis has been decriminalized since 1976 and in that time they’ve climbed to the totem poll of all things cannabis. But they have the fewest cannabis users in Europe.

Much in the same way that decriminalization has lead to fewer opioid overdoses in places like Portugal, making cannabis more freely available has only created a more level headed approach by Dutch people to the drug. That’s why you can go to places like Amsterdam, visit one of the many CBD cafes and not have to worry about a sleazy, criminal element.

Barcelona, Spain

Quickly becoming one of the top destinations in Europe for marijuna use, Barcelona is culturally rich with a two thousand year old history. You can take bike tours around the city, see all the sights of Gaudi, and most importantly indulge in some relaxing CBD.

Spain is, like many other places in Europe, still in desperate need of CBD regulation. That said, there are a tonne of CBD shops and cafes to choose from all around the city. It’s proving so popular there that they recently hosted Europe’s premier cannabis event, Spannabis. This brought together so many people who see cannabis as a positive force in the world, and shone a spotlight on the CBD culture of Spain.

Prague, Czech Rep.

You would think that being a former Soviet satellite state that the Czech Republic would probably have a pretty stern view on all things cannabinoid. But that’s not the case. In fact, since 2013, medical marijuana is legal and opioid use is not considered a criminal offense. Unless, of course, you’re harbouring vast quantities.

Now you can take in the sights of the Astronomical Clock in the Old Town or watch the sunset at the Charles Bridge. And whenever your legs a bit sore from all that breathtaking scenery why not stop at a CBD cafe and indulge in CBD with an upward limit of 0.3% THC.

Lisbon, Portugal

Portugal is a truly forward-thinking European country that has decriminalized the possession and use of all drugs, which has lead to a rapid decrease in drug overdoses and HIV related deaths. A shining example of what can happen when the stigmatization is removed.

The city of Lisbon has embraced the wellness bug of CBD, with places like Cafe Janis going so far as to make a special CBD cocktail. The ‘Janis CBD’ is made with Bombay Sapphire and CBD which customers say brings a light and special feeling to their evening. Why not go there and tell us what it’s like?

Switzerland

Not so much a city break as a country break, Switzerland, on the whole, deserves a special mention on this list because it has become a virtual CBD mecca. Now they’re at the point where extremely potent CBD products are being sold on the shelves of supermarkets like Lidl.

In Switzerland, the THC content can be up to and including 1% potency. Now they have a huge burgeoning industry of CBD suppliers along with the beautiful countryside to do it in. Why not take a trip to the Jungfrau Region, amazing in both summer and winter, and take in the breathtaking majesty of Switzerland with an added CBD boost

Where are you travelling to this winter?
