For once Candid's Fashion Editor Thomas Falkenstedt lets neighbour rivalry go and puts his Swedish heart aside while he praises the Danish brand Les Deux, which is launching into the UK market.
Much like Denmark itself, the Les Deux SS18 collection is the epitome of suave streetwear, capturing the synergies between rebellious and romantic with deliberate beauty and raw energy.
Inspirations behind the collection are contrasting as it combines the preppiness of Denmark’s Northern Sealand, with the darker roots of Copenhagen. It boasts a mixture of lightweight shirts, soft T-shirts, and relaxed suit-trousers with a sports-luxe contrast of tracksuits, hoodies, and trainers.
Its colour pallet is an array of rich mustard, khaki green, deep navy and black mixed with delicate hues of soft purple, crisp whites and grey tones. Fabrics include breathable cottons, woven cashmere blends and wool mixes, giving the collection an overall soft handle and relaxed aesthetic.
Within the SS18 collection lies a collaboration with Kopenhagen Fur. The Les Deux X Fur Collection is a true definition of casual luxury. Les Deux selected its most iconic designs that best represented the brands core of sophistication and urban simplicity and then added a second dimension of mink detailing, delving into the world of luxury.
The range also offers a variety of accessories which include stylish caps with printed logos and beautiful leather and suede trainers, which are handmade in Portugal.
The Danish brand Les Deux was created by Andreas and Virgil back in 2009. It started out as only a T-shirt concept, but now the brand has evolved with a full collection and premium finish and have taken the step to a market outside Scandinavia.
