Joey King has revealed that she put CBD cream on her feet prior to attending the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) awards this year. Speaking to Access Hollywood the SAG nominee said: “I got CBD cream on my feet because I know it’s going to be a long night.”
Donned in a custom made Jason Woo outfit, the 20-year-old American actress suggested the real reason for using CBD cream was to try to help with the awful pain of walking in her high heels all night long, telling the interviewer that her “ heels are insane”.
The reason why Joey chooses CBD cream above all others is because of its two-fold action of being a natural anti-inflammatory and a natural painkiller all in one.
CBD (cannabidiol) works by interacting with what are known as receptors in the human body of which there are many in the skin. This unique ability of CBD results in the lowering of inflammation and pain that often comes with wearing high heels.
This Emmy award-winning actress is not the first celeb to use CBD though, with Kim Kardashian, Gweneth Paltrow, and Jennifer Aniston all expressing their appreciation of it.
In fact, Kim K held a CBD baby shower for Psalm West, Gweneth raves about CBD all the time in her Goop wellness brand, and Jennifer uses CBD oil to treat her anxiety and lower stress.
CBD cream is not just for famous celebrities though as there are lots of exciting brands out there for us ordinary folk to choose from such as Kiehls, Josie Maran Cosmetics, and Poko.
The Poko CBD brand, in particular, offers fantastic, cruelty-free, 100% vegan CBD skincare products such as a soothing serum, hydrating moisturiser, eye cream, and facial oil.
CBD’s burst into the lucrative skin care market is continuing to grow in 2020 and it is currently estimated to be worth around £570 million with predictions that it will continue to grow 33% year on year according to Future Market Insights and for good reason.
Not only does CBD have anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving qualities but it also has skin-loving benefits too! It has powerful antibacterial properties which have great potential to help people with acne, eczema, and psoriasis by killing harmful bacteria as well as reducing sebum production (the main cause of acne).
While we wait for scientists to come back with more good news about what CBD can do for us and our skin, we can always continue to rely on celebs like Joey King to share the good news. They seem to love CBD just as much as we do.
