Voyagers: The Number One Sci-Fi Thriller of 2021

8th October 2021

Tasked with saving the future of the entire human race, a gang of purpose-bred young adults are launched into the depths of space. Except, all is not what it initially seems. Voyagers is a coming-of-age film like no other. Filled with suspense, subterfuge, and disturbing secrets, the film chronicles their mission to find a new home planet, and uncovering the truth.

Starring Lily-Rose Depp, Fionn Whitehead, Tye Sheridan, and Colin Farrell, Voyagers promises to be the sci-fi thriller of the year. And luckily for us, you can watch it in the comfort of your own home with Sky Cinema and NOW.

A Mission to Save Humanity

In a not-so-unrealistic situation where Earth is slowly becoming unsuitable for human life, Richard Alling (Colin Farrell) leads his team into deep space to find a new home planet. With this multi-generational mission set to span at least 86 years, the team have been raised from birth with their destiny already written; each member genetically engineered for heightened intelligence, physical ability, and obedience. Their sole purpose is to procreate so humanity can live carry on living.

However, the mission does not go according to plan. The ship quickly descends into chaos when the young team discovers they’re being manipulated and drugged into subordination. As they quietly resist and defy their training, they realise how deep the deception runs. As they stop taking their daily cocktail “vitamins”, they are faced with overwhelming emotions and primal urges – things they have never felt before. They discover that they have been drugged their entire lives, making them the perfectly obedient foot soldiers for the cause.

In addition to the pressure of saving humanity, they’re now faced with years of suppressed emotions and primal urges. They quickly become consumed by fear, paranoia, lust, and of course, hunger for power. As time goes on, life inside the spaceship becomes far more dangerous than what lies in wait on the outside.
