Luxury lifestyle brand Thomas Clipper launches travel bag and accessories range.
Our Fashion Editor, Thomas Falkenstedt, explores luxury lifestyle pioneer Thomas Clipper. The brand are excited to announce the exclusive launch of their first Italian and artisan-made travel bag and accessories range, The Modena Collection.
Located in the north of Italy, Modena is best known to us for its production of Ferrari, Maserati, Balsamic vinegar and for the famous Michelin-star restaurant, Osteria Francescana. And now Modena is also also known for Thomas Clipper – an exclusive line of bags and accessories.
Finest craftsmanship in the world
At the heart of this medieval town, Modena is home to some of the finest craftsmanship of leather goods in the world. One workshop in particular, where The Modena Collection is made, is a small family run business.
Here, highly skilled artisans have been working for more than fifty years, acquiring knowledge, traditions and skills passed down from generation to generation to produce the finest leather goods.
Traditional methods from the Middle Ages have been used to treat the Tuscan cowhides by using a meticulous vegetable tanning process, giving the appearance of an incomparable patina and character to the leather that improves with age.
The attention to detail extends even further with each product being embossed with its very own limited edition number and GPS location of the workshop it was handmade in.
The collection includes the Overnight Bag in two options, Italian leather with textile trim and a second in all-Italian leather, Weekend Duffel, Passport Holder, Laptop Sleeve and Minimalist Card Holder. Tuscan, vegetable tanned full-grain leather has been used throughout the Thomas Clipper range as well as elite, endurance textile.
The brand launched on Kickstarter
Thomas Clipper is a luxury men’s grooming and lifestyle brand founded by Matt Brown and Antonio Weiss in 2014. The brand’s roots originate from selling their first premium safety razors on Kickstarter. After proving a huge success with its fans, the brand decided to widen their product offering to its customers.
Highlights of some of the additional products include the Shaving Kit with lathering bowl and brush made from semi-fossilised oak, Handmade Juniper Shaving Soap from the North Norfolk coast which is vegan-friendly, Organic Frankincense Shave Oils with anti-rash ingredient made in the Midlands, and a Tuscan Wash Bag in full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather made in Italy.
Last year Thomas Clipper launched UNITE a trio of colognes developed in Grasse, France and made in the UK. The UNITE trio comprises of three scents which are designed to be either worn alone or blended together.
