onlyhoneylionbaby releases Oh, Caroline

3rd March 2017

Laced with nostalgic melody, Oh, Caroline by onlyhoneylionbaby is an exquisite piece of songwriting. First played by Arielle Free on Hoxton Radio, the freshman demo was written by Daniel J. Lawrence, high up in the clouds on a journey to Australia following a breakup.

Melancholy and optimism are interwoven in heartfelt lyrics floating on gentle organ chords. A moderised sound reaching back to the '60s is prevalent with inspiration stemming from Harry Nilsson, The Beach Boys and Sam Cooke. Love, loss, letting go and moving on are the key messages delivered on delicate notes of purpose. If you’re a fan of Canada’s Tobias Jesso Jr or America’s Christopher Owens and Mathew E White, onlyhoneylionbaby will slot nicely into one of your favourite playlists.
The demo was produced by Simon Brown (Kaiser Chiefs, The View, Girls Aloud), and both Lawrence and Brown are currently working in the Cotwolds in preparation for live shows. If Oh, Caroline is anything to go by, seeing onlyhoneylionbaby live will top our list for summer.
