New CBD Serum by Kourtney Kardashian

2nd December 2019

Following an announcement that she will be taking a step back from ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’, Kourtney Kardashian will be focusing more of her time and effort into a new range of health and beauty products.

Kourtney K launched her own health and wellness website ‘Poosh’, in April 2019. Named after the nickname given to her daughter Penelope, Poosh is a self-proclaimed “guide on how to live your best life” and has already attracted an amazing 3.1 million followers on Instagram in such a short time.

The Kardashian star and Poosh have teamed up with Hora Skin Care and released a brand new CBD skin-care serum alongside a rose-gold coloured derma roller.

The Hyaluronic Halo + CBD Serum states that it is ‘a moisturizing powerhouse suitable for all skin types, with 98% natural ingredients, [it is] made up with a hyaluronic acid base’, which Kourtney’s website claims ‘is a rockstar ingredient in beauty’ and that it changes the way your brain ‘looks and functions’.

What does Kourtney Kardashian Say?

The product was released on Kourtney’s website, and following up on Instagram the star wrote “I’ve become an even bigger fan of hyaluronic acid for my skin over the past year. It has completely transformed my texture and tone, and I have fallen more in love with it during our creative process while the Poosh team and I have been testing and tweaking Hyaluronic Halo + CBD formulas.

Why CBD in Beauty Products?

CBD is becoming more commonplace in beauty products, and it appears more and more celebrities, like Kourtney Kardashian, are advocating its use every day. But what actually drives someone like Kourtney to use CBD? What does CBD do for the skin?

CBD in beauty products is extracted from the hemp plant and is perfectly legal to use in the UK. Scientists are beginning to understand more about how CBD interacts with our bodies. Dr Sonia Batra, co-host of The Doctors advised that CBD helps to control how much oil our skin produces.

Batra went on to say, “When applied to the skin in a cream, lotion or oil, CBD is absorbed and binds cannabinoid receptors to potentially reduce inflammation, calm redness and reduce acne. Some recent studies have shown CBD products can be effective at treating eczema and psoriasis.”

Your body makes compounds that are very similar to some of the active ingredients in hemp such as CBD, and these compounds appear to be very beneficial. So, when you consume CBD or put it on your skin, you are giving your body more of the compounds that it likes.

When combined with the hydrating effects of hyaluronic acid in the product, this CBD-based serum could really have amazing effects on your skin and if you are thinking about starting your own CBD brand, check out our guide.
