You last saw him behind the decks at the launch of Candid Magazine’s fifteenth issue – The Luxury Issue – and now Kris James is taking to the runways of London Fashion Week to do an LFW Diary for Candid.

A regular on the front row at London Fashion Week and London Fashion Week Men’s, we’re looking forward to having Kris on the editorial team for September and caught up with him ahead of the whirlwind.
What shows are you looking forward to seeing at LFW?
I really love wearing funky jackets and so Joshua Kane is a personal favourite. I’m really interested in seeing what Pam Hogg, Amanda Wakeley, House Of Holland, Julien Macdonald, John Herrera and Roland Mouret have done this season; also the more high street brands like Topshop and Tommy Hilfiger.
On-schedule or off-schedule – which shows do you find most inspiring?
Well, I do really love Joshua Kane and think the work is just really cool and fresh. However, I’m most inspired and excited by Pam Hogg. I love how daring she is and whenever I see her collections or shows, it’s always just breath-taking. I also love that she is an artist and a musician!
Have you already started planning your outfits?
I sure have. I am all about mixing it up. You will always find me with a mixture of high street, luxury designer and maybe even some Hugh fashion items. I’ll keep you waiting for my outfits [laughs]!
Do you have a go-to piece of fashion or an accessory that you always wear?
I do. I love belts, so you will always see me wearing one of my many belts. I have over forty! I think it’s so important to have a lovely designer belt to top off your trousers.
Fashion Week can be pretty exhausting; what are your top tips for getting through?
It sure can. Well, I don’t drink any alcohol when I am there even though there are some amazing parties! So my advice would be always carry a bottle of water and make sure you get to bed early [laughs], that way you can be fresh for the following day. I usually party the last day!

Where do you like to go over LFW in between shows to refuel?
Well usually I’m with the band and friends so we generally go over to the Grooming Room, which I love. I love getting to know about the new emerging brands that are coming and also to get a few treats too. After that, I like to go to The London Edition. They have the coolest, snug room at the back of the hotel where they sell the most amazing drinks and you can really just chill for a few hours.
