We introduced you to Swiss luxury brand ESSIUS in in the current print issue of Candid Magazine – The Luxury Issue, and we're excited to present an edit of their autumn/winter 2017 collection, which is loosely based on “the geometric shapes of coniferous trees.”
Let's back up for a reintroduction of ESSIUS. ESSIUS is a palindrome (SUISSE spelled backwards in French). The name reveals more than a country; it reveals an attitude, a lifestyle, a philosophy and a hint at Switzerland's longstanding legacy for precision design and craftsmanship. ESSIUS is a men’s ready-to-wear house founded in Zürich and passionately attached to the classicism of men’s clothing mixed with daring creativity.
Sweatshirts, shirts, silk scarves, suits, coats and bomber jackets appear in luxury fabrics such as double cashmeres and wools. Colours mirror Switzerland's mountainous landscape – high-altitude moss, grass green, burgundy and geological references such as granite grey and black quartz.
CEO and Co-founder of ESSIUS, Adel Najah, who sat down with us for an interview in the current issue says, “This collection is a celebration of Switzerland. It's an homage to what made it's worldwide reputation. The spirit is there but it stays abstract, allowing ESSIUS to keep an element of classicism while showcasing originality.”
