Caroline Rush CBE, Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council and co-host of announcement reception at the Boundary Restaurant, said, “Craig demonstrated incredible maturity, he has a clear plan of how the fund will benefit his business and how the mentoring can assist in his business growth over the next three years.”
Gordon Watson, CEO of Vertu added, “The standard has been very high but in the end, Craig won because of his clear vision and commercial awareness, which will no doubt lead to a very successful future.”
The fund is the United Kingdom’s largest and most coveted designer menswear prize. It was established in September 2013 and sees one designer receiving a £150,000 grant helping to take their business to the next level, along with a catalog of in-kind services including mentoring for a twelve-month period.
Born in London, Craig established his label in 2012 following his Fashion MA graduation form Central Saint Martins. His signature includes ‘uniform and utility’ with a retake of the ‘worker jacket’ hitting the runway each season. Craig’s collections are currently stocked at Dover Street Market, 10 Corso Como, Selfridges, Barney’s and Galeries Lafayette. He won the British Fashion Award for Emerging Menswear Designer in 2014, and was a finalist for 2015’s LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize.
The Craig Green spring/summer 2017 menswear show will take place on the 10th of June at 5:00pm at the Topman Show Space over London Collections Men.
