CBD is already world-famous for its anti-seizure, anti-anxiety and anti-inflammatory properties but now new research suggests it may contribute to weight loss also.

Research has shown that animals who took CBD had a significant reduction in weight loss compared to placebo groups.

This would, of course, need to be replicated in human trials but while waiting on that to happen, why not have a CBD smoothie and find out for yourself?

Preparation

Remember that when making smoothies there are no rules so feel free to swap ingredients with what you have at home!

In terms of CBD quantity, it all depends on the dosage you require but a guideline of no more than 50 mg of CBD is advised to balance out the flavours.

Green CBD Smoothie

Prep Time: 5 mins
Total Time: 6 mins
Serves: 2

CBD Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1-2 handful of seedless grapes
  • 1 pear
  • 1 apple
  • 3 kale leaves
  • 25 mg of CBD oil tincture
  • 2 handfuls of spinach leaves
  • 1 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 2 cups of ice cubes

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Sharp Knife
  • Chopping board

Method

  1. Peel and remove skins of the pear and apple.
  2. Chop up all the ingredients.
  3. Place all ingredients into a blender.
  4. Add your CBD oil to the mix.
  5. Blend for approx 1 minute or until there is a smooth texture.
  6. Pour into a glass and serve.

CBD Pink Smoothie

Prep Time: 5 mins
Total Time: 6 mins
Serves: 2

CBD Smoothie

Ingredients

  • ½ cup greek yoghurt
  • 1 Cup of water
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup of frozen raspberries
  • 25 mg of CBD oil tincture
  • 2 small beetroots
  • 1 Tbsp of hemp seeds
  • 1/2 cup of ice cubes

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Sharp Knife
  • Chopping board

Method

  1. Peel the two beetroots and chop into small pieces.
  2. Pour all ingredients into a blender.
  3. Add the CBD oil of your choice.
  4. Blend for approx 1 minute or until there is a smooth texture
  5. Pour into a glass and serve

CBD Berry Smoothie

Prep Time: 3 mins
Total Time: 4 mins
Serves: 2

CBD Smoothie

Ingredients

  • ½ cup blackberries
  • ½ cup raspberries
  • ½ cup strawberries
  • ¼ cup blueberries
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup of fat-free milk
  • 25 mg of CBD oil
  • ½ cup of ice cubes

Method

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender
  2. Blend for 1-2 minutes until you reach a smooth texture
  3. Pour into a glass and serve
