New label Acabada ProActiveWear has pushed the boundaries of What Product Can We Put CBD in Next, by becoming the first ever activewear brand to actually infuse CBD into clothes.
Acabada’s line of women’s activewear is constructed out of luxury fabrics imbued with the healing properties of organic CBD, to help people speed up their post-workout recovery.

Conceptualized in New York and produced in Portugal, each Acabada collection will feature a limited-edition line of activewear, available only until all products are sold. The brand’s first collection dropped on Thursday August 22nd, with the second edition dropping in October. Drawing inspiration from New York street style, the first collection from Acabada will feature high-performance sports bras, leggings, topics, jackets, shorts and bodysuits to be worn from the pull-up bar to the cocktail bar.
“Our variety of garments were designed with the active woman in mind, providing her the opportunity to not only workout in high-fashion styles, but also continue her day in luxurious fabrics that are breathable and move with her,” says co-founder and Chief Creative Officer Katrina Petrillo in a statement.
The range features a muted and chic design palate of black, white, and “gunmetal grey” in matte and high shine finishes, with prices starting at $120 for sports bras and tank tops, $250 for jackets, and $160 for leggings.
The Science behind
So how does it actually work? Through a process known as “microencapsulation”, Acabada have infused CBD molecules into the fibres of their fabrics, by encasing microdroplets of zero-THC CBD extract in a protective film. These microcapsules of CBD bond to fibres in the fabric through a patented textile finishing treatment, to fibres in the fabric through a patented textile finishing treatment, to ensure they aren’t washed out.
Acabada have also strategically located these microcapsules of CBD to target the muscle groups that need it most, gradually opening over time through friction with your skin during a workout. This offers a slow-release dose of topical CBD that is absorbed into the skin, where all that anti-inflammatory healing goodness can get to work.
Does it work?
While it might sound like pseudo-scientific nonsense, microencapsulation is actually a real thing – and has been traditionally used to infuse clothing with ingredients like aloe vera or fragrances (remember those teddy bears that smelled like strawberries?).
Each piece from Acabada ProActiveWear is infused with up to 25 grams of 99.9% pure, lab-certified CBD extract, with zero THC which lasts for 40 high-intensity workouts and wash cycles.
