Cheese and crackers; Thelma and Louise; salt and pepper, some things are just meant to be together. So when Bushmills Irish Whiskey decided to host a live music tour, it just all made sense; so that’s what they have done.
Bushmills Irish Whiskey has launched a nationwide tour showcasing established bands and rising talent in a series of gigs in iconic, independent music venues. The Bushmills Tour is part of the #AnswerTheCall campaign that aims to showcase creators, artists and entrepreneurs from the music industry and beyond to showcase their talents and inspire others to fulfil their true calling.
And with bands like We are Scientists through to The Wytches and VANT, the lineup is something not to be missed.
Kicking off in Brighton on the 13th April with festival favourites and residents of the Brighton indie scene – The Magic Gang, we will be treated sonically with a band that is being hailed as one of the hottest bands in the UK who will be releasing their debut album later this year. Think geek rock, but with the power to surprise with an eclectic mix of synth sounds. They will be setting up sound at The Green Door Store in Brighton.
From there we take a tour up the M40 to the home of indie music: Manchester, where VANT headline the Deaf Institute on 27th April – indie rock with a side of '90s grunge; think Soundgarden meets Maximo Park. They are a mosh pit essential. VANT found their way onto national radio with their razor-sharp guitar lines. They have received praise from the likes of Clash and DIY for their sugary and sardonic six-string creations.
London is the next stop on this tour celebrating the best in music and whiskey as Bush Hall welcomes We are Scientists on May 9th. Bringing some of the Californian sun to the capital, New York-based We Are Scientists have released four albums and have a fifth on the way. Known for always injecting a bit of comedy to their live performances, the duo always put on a great show. Music isn’t the only form of creativity that We Are Scientists have used to #AnswerTheCall as the boys are also known for writing a short play script for their website and often bring theatrics and grandeur to their live music performances.
The finale of the Bushmills tour will take gig-goers to Headrow House in Leeds to check out psychedelic rock trio The Wytches as they take to the stage with their hypnotising guitar riffs and White Stripes-esque offerings, with their own individual style taking gleaming through. Renowned for recording their nihilistic debut album in just two days, The Wytches mix their prolific sound with carnal fuzz and an energy that’s fearfully focused in every live performance.
Tickets are available at The Bushmills Tour.
So get your tickets, get your Bushmills whiskey in hand – harking from Ireland’s oldest working distillery, and we will see you in the crowd!
