Take a look at 3 ways in which you can infuse CBD into your Thanksgiving Day meal…

CBD-Infused Traditional Gravy

Without a doubt, the best tasting gravy uses the juices from the meat as a base. In our recipe, the natural juices are further enhanced with flavours from rosemary, sage, onions and CBD. The CBD is added to the gravy towards the end of cooking. Adding it too early or directly to the pan can cause the temperature to high, resulting in the breaking down of the CBD. This recipe is gluten-free. Serves 6-8 people.

Ingredients

  • 2 white onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 3 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
  • 600 ml of chicken stock (including juices from roasted meat)
  • 1 tsp of cornstarch (mix well in a tablespoon of hot water)
  • Salt and pepper
  • Butter
  • 20 drops of 1000 mg CBD oil
  • (Optional) 1 tsp wholegrain mustard

Method

  1. Saute finely chopped onions in butter in a large skillet over medium heat, being careful not to burn.
  2. When the onion starts to become translucent, (approx. 5 minutes) add the crushed garlic cloves.
  3. Saute for a further 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, and then add the fresh rosemary and fresh sage. Allow to cook for a further 5 minutes, stirring continuously to ensure nothing burns.
  4. Add the stock, bring to the boil and then lower the heat, cover and allow to simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Before adding to the gravy – Mix 1 tsp cornstarch into 1 tbsp hot water and mix well to ensure a nice slurry with even consistency. Add to the gravy and whisk thoroughly and allow to cook for 2 minutes.
  6. If gravy is not thick enough – repeat step 5 until the desired thickness is achieved.
  7. Melt 10 g butter in a bowl and add 20 drops of 1000 mg CBD oil and mix thoroughly – add to the gravy and stir thoroughly
  8. Add salt and pepper to taste. Wholegrain mustard is an optional extra for added flavour.
